Andrew Rees the Butcher, winner of the prestigious 'Best Traditional Retailer in Britain' award
WEST Wales butchers Andrew Rees and Sons were named Daily Telegraph Best Traditional Business last week in the annual Rural Retailers of the Year awards run by the Countryside Alliance.

Andrew, who has kept his shop in Narberth for 20 years, was described by one of the judges as “not just a butcher, but a one-man local food campaign”.

Countryside Alliance chief executive Simon Hart said Mr Rees was “immensely modest”, but was carrying on traditional skills in a modern setting and making huge efforts to inform the next generation about the benefits of local produce.

“He is also a firm favourite with his community, especially the food producers he goes the extra mile to support,” he said.
